tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976, in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was a star player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in both games at the University of California. He was the team's football coach to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, he tied the school record for bowl games with nine receptions. In the following months, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their thirteenth overall pick. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL year, he caught more than 59 passes each season.
